Garden Parasol Bases

Don’t Forget the Benefits of Garden Parasol Bases

So you’re thinking about buying a garden parasol to complete your patio set and provide you with some shade whenever you are sitting at your garden table. But before you complete that purchase, there is one other item you need to think about buying. This is a parasol base, and as you will see there are plenty of advantages to having one.

Parasol Bases

Garden parasol bases are essential for keeping your parasol firm and steady in its place. Just imagine trying to keep your parasol from moving if you didn’t have a base to keep it in place. It would be virtually an impossible task, particularly if it was windy. With a good solid base in place you don’t have to worry about leaving the parasol unattended for a time if need be.

Another great advantage is that you can get a base that will match the parasol you want to get. Let’s say you have a green parasol for example; you should find you can get a green base to match it. There are also bases in lots of different materials so if you want to get an authentic stone one, you can do. Lots of people will look for traditional looking garden parasol bases rather than cheaper ones that are perhaps made from heavy duty plastic. The good news is that whatever you want you will be able to get something just right for your requirements.

Cost is another big benefit to think about. Obviously a base made from stone or marble will cost a lot more than a base made from plastic. But it’s good to know you can get either one depending on your budget. In the case of the cheapest ones you will normally have to fill them either with water or sand to ensure you can weigh them down enough to support the parasol itself. This is easy to do though – and it also means it is perfectly light to carry home from the store or have delivered to your home!

In the case of a heavy base, perhaps one made from stone for example, you can leave it in place throughout the year if you wish. This means you don’t have to worry about trying to move it if you don’t want to.

You would be forgiven for thinking that all parasol bases are pretty dull and solid in colour. But this isn’t always the case. You would be surprised by the sheer number and style of bases you can get. One of the best examples of this is the cast iron base, which does not appear as a solid lump. Instead it is shaped beautifully to include an ornate design you can actually see through. Cast iron is heavy enough that it can be designed in such a way, without having to worry about it blowing away. It’s not going to happen with a cast iron base!

So you can see that whatever you have in mind for your garden parasol design, you will be sure to find a base to fit it perfectly.
