Are You Stuck On Choosing The Right Colour Parasol For Your Garden?

Sunday October 4, 2009

It is wonderful to have a lot of choices when it comes to buying a garden parasol. But sometimes those choices can be rather overwhelming.

This is particularly true when it comes to colour. The most traditional colour parasol you can get is a plain green one. This tends to be a plain mossy green colour, and it suits most gardens well. This is probably why it is the most frequently seen colour of all. It blends well with the background of greenery in the garden, and as such it won’t stick out and be hugely noticeable.

A Selection of the Best Selling Coloured Garden Parasols

But having said that, you may not want something that dark in your garden. If this sounds like you don’t worry. You don’t have to opt for something that most of your neighbours are going to have as well! There are enough other choices around to ensure you can have something that not everyone else has.

Of course you might find that you still want your garden parasol to blend in naturally with its surroundings. In this case you will still want a single colour that is natural in appearance – and what better colour than stone or cream? These are certainly much lighter and as such they should let more light through, while still enabling you to shade yourself from the heat of the sun.

Once you start moving away from these types of colours you are left with all kinds of other ones to consider. The next step is really to stick with a garden parasol that consists of one single colour, but is much brighter in nature. Colours such as bright red, cyan, yellow and virtually anything else you can think of also work well in a garden. This is particularly true if you like lots of pots and hanging baskets nearby which are filled with colourful flowers. You can almost pick these out by choosing a garden parasol that is made from a similar brightly coloured material.

The next step up from that is to go for a patterned material. These are not quite as easy to find, but most shops or websites will sell one or two garden parasols that fall into this category. And you would be surprised at what you can get too! There was one on sale recently that was made with a tartan style material – making it quite eye catching and definitely a centrepiece in any garden!

The key is to think about whether the colour is going to look as good in a few months time (or even years in the future) as it does now. Even though most parasols are treated to ensure they don’t fade easily, it will still happen over time as the sun does its work. Would that tartan design still look as good when it has faded?

In the end you will have your own ideas about which colours will look best. But it is a good idea to make sure it is something you can live with for the long term.
