Do You Need Lights For Your Garden Parasol?

Sunday October 4, 2009

Lots of people have a garden parasol to use with their garden table and chairs. But they don’t always get the best use out of it that they could. For example, they might regularly sit outside and use the table and chairs to enjoy an al fresco meal in the evenings. This is wonderful as the warm summer days start to cool down, making the evening times more enjoyable than the days on occasion!

But as it starts to get dark there can be problems. If you aren’t fully prepared for it you might end up going back indoors to find candles to help light up the surroundings. That is fair enough, but candles can be knocked over and thus present a safety hazard. And you need quite a few to provide enough light for your purposes. In addition to that they can also be blown out by any breeze or draught that happens to be around.

Luckily there is a great solution that you will commonly find sold alongside the garden parasols themselves. This is a set of garden parasol lights, which completely transform your parasol and make it into an area of your garden that looks really good.

They look a bit like Christmas lights when you find them on the shelf. The box will have perhaps twenty or thirty lights inside it, all strung on the same wire. The only difference is that the design permits them to be hung down the struts of the parasol itself.

In this sense, once you have turned them on you will find that the lights radiate down from the central point of the parasol. This gives a good amount of light to shine down on the table below. You would be surprised at how much difference this makes to enjoying a meal, when it is lit from above. Your evenings will get longer and even more enjoyable!

If you don’t like the idea of the lights radiating out from the central point you can also get exterior parasol lights that simply trail round the edge of the parasol. Just make sure you read all the details for these, to make sure you will have enough lights to go right round the circumference itself.

Whichever set of lights you use, make sure you read the instructions fully so you know how to use them safely. They may not be suitable for leaving outside at all times, so be sure you know the best way to use them.

But whatever set you decide to get, you will surely find that it enhances the garden parasol you have bought. Why limit your use of that parasol to daylight hours when you can extend its life to be used and enjoyed in the evenings as well? Simply look through all the websites that sell garden parasols to see if they can also supply you with the lights. You never know, they might even do a deal on both for you.
